The staff @PNESchool appreciate our amazing Grade 6 students and want to recognize them for their outstanding efforts throughout their elementary experience. An individual Grade 6 Celebration will be held later this month to celebrate each student's accomplishments and allow staff an opportunity to wish our Grade 6 Bears well as they begin their next adventure in junior high. The Student Wellness Challenge for this week is:

Mrs. Leitch will then send your pictures to our Yearbook Committee for their consideration. Beginning April 6th, lesson postings will be every Monday and Thursday morning by noon.  Contact with myself or Mrs. Marwick will be by email or phone. This option is available to both students and parents. Please contact me first, at either my email address (heather.lockwood@eips.ca) or by phone at 780-467-2246 ext.6330 and leave a message. 

 

Tips: If you choose to contact me by phone, please ensure that you wait until the end of the message before you enter the extension number to leave your inquiry.

Grade 4, 5, 6 Campbell Cribb Speech Competition

Reminders

Speeches must be 2-3 minutes in length and should be timed in class. Students will be stopped at 3 minutes. No props, costumes, violence or inappropriate subject matter.

Timeline

February 24-March 5: Students write, correct and finalize their speeches in class.

March 9-13: Students polish and practice speeches in class. Provide constructive feedback/suggest areas for improvement.

March 16-20: Select the best 3 speeches in your class. (Six speeches MAXIMUM from each grade. NO TIES.)

March 23-26: Share the best 6 speeches with your grade group classes so students get experience presenting their speeches to a larger audience.

April 9: School Final

Adjudication in Library: 8:45 a.m.–11:15 a.m.

Approximate Timelines:

Grade 4: 8:45 a.m. – 9:20 a.m.

Grade 5: 9:30 a.m. – 10:10 a.m.
